Member Jon A. Woodall has been elected to the board of directors of Meritas, a global alliance of independent law firms that serves the legal needs of companies across major jurisdictions and global markets. Woodall was elected to the position from the more than 9,200 attorneys in the Meritas member network and will serve a three-year term with six other lawyers from around the world.

Member Jon A. Woodall has been selected as a new member of the Lexington Advisory Board for Central Bank & Trust Co. 

Beginning modestly at the corner of Short and Upper streets in downtown Lexington, Central Bank has expanded into a key presence throughout the Bluegrass region, proudly supporting communities in Berea, Crestview Hills, Florence, Ft. Mitchell, Georgetown, Lexington, Louisville, Nicholasville, Richmond, Union, and Winchester. By operating advisory boards across its key markets, the bank sparks dynamic conversations between its leadership and emerging directors, fostering meaningful connections and collaborative strategies for the future. 

The Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Foundation, led by President Jon Woodall, has surpassed the $500,000 mark in scholarships provided to date. Founded in 1995, the foundation supports statewide conservation education efforts and provides scholarships that allow underserved children to attend and participate in those educational opportunities. This includes three Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife summer conservation camps: Camp Robert Webb, Camp Earl Wallace, and Camp John Currie. 

McBrayer Member Jon A. Woodall has recently been named to the board of Bluegrass Tomorrow. Bluegrass Tomorrow is an organization dedicated to promoting economic development that improves the quality of life for Kentuckians and protects Kentucky’s natural resources through collaboration, preservation, accountability, and education.

In a major victory for the construction industry, the Kentucky Court of Appeals has issued its opinion in Carolyn Breedlove v. Smith Custom Homes, Inc. et al. The opinion addressed a number of issues, including applicability of two statutes of limitation that affect homebuilders’ potential liability for alleged construction defects and/or building code violations, KRS 413.120(13) and KRS 198B.130(2).
