Overview

Alan Pauw's practice covers multiple fields, such as healthcare, employee benefits, wills and trusts, along with general business and corporate issues. He functions primarily as a business and tax attorney, representing small family-owned corporations in sales transactions and aiding various physicians with contract-related matters, including buy-ins, healthcare compliance, and general employment issues. 

Tax and corporate law present analytical challenges and involve personal relationships, which drew Alan to these areas of law. Estate planning and probate matters bring Alan's practice into contact with families facing significant decisions, and he finds fulfillment in making a positive difference in their lives as they navigate family, legal, and tax issues.

Capabilities, Successes, and Assignments

• Represents small family corporations involved in sale transactions.
• Assists physicians with contractual matters concerning buy-ins, healthcare compliance, and general employment issues.
• Addresses matters concerning public pension plans and ERISA retirement plans, including compliance with the Tax Code, fiduciary liability concerns, and non-qualified deferred compensation.
• Created McBrayer's prototype plan document, which is an IRS pre-approved retirement plan document that many of the firm's employer clients use.
